I qualified in 1985 from the Royal London Hospital and have worked mostly in general dental practice ever since; I gained the Diploma in General Dental Practice from the Royal College of Surgeons in 1995.
My interests and skills are in providing high-quality repairs and replacements for teeth, together with prevention of dental problems. I also have a particular interest in the functional aspects of jaw joints and teeth and the way they affect and are affected by general health and fitness.
I established the Granta Dental team in 1990 because I wanted to create a practice which specialises in personalised, holistic dental care by understanding and responding to the individual needs of every patient. I'm delighted to say that I've now built a committed and professional team that does just that.
I began my career working in Cambridgeshire as a dental nurse for 4.5 years, but wanted to expand on my skills and my passion for prevention in gum disease and improving oral health. I studied a BSc (Hons) in Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy at the University of Portsmouth Dental Academy & graduated with the ‘Contribution to the community’ award. It is important for me to maintain a high standard of care, by partaking in continuous professional development courses and provide a holistic approach for all my patients.
I am fully qualified to carry out fillings, impressions, radiographs, paediatric extractions, and other therapies, including tooth whitening.
With my passion for prevention and love for travel I have combined the two by attending a voluntary dental camp in India 2016, and I hope to continue work of this nature throughout my career and within my local communities. Believe it or not, I do have other interests outside of oral health, such as, cycling, exploring different cultures, drawing, henna design and cooking.
