Granta Dental is delighted to be one of the UK's first BioPAK Centres. BioPAK Centres provide diagnostic scans for people concerned about the health of their jaw, teeth and face, for example, those who:

• have been involved in a road accident
• have experienced trauma to the face in a work accident or sports injury
• are suffering pain in their face, neck and back, or headaches and migraines
• have clicks and pops in their jaw joint
• suffer discomfort in their teeth when they chew
• are thinking about implant or cosmetic dentistry.

Nearly a quarter of the population suffer from some form of problem with the way their jaw joint, facial muscles and teeth operate.  Unfortunately, many of these sufferers are misdiagnosed with everything from tension headaches to neuritis, neuralgia and even psychosomatic illness. As the true cause goes unrecognised, patients may then be led to prolonged drug regimes, or labelled as hypochondriacs, or dismissed as incurable. 

As a BioPAK Centre, we can provide a comprehensive diagnostic solution for every circumstance.

If you have been involved in an accident but have no symptoms, or have clicking joints, or are about to undergo cosmetic or implant dentistry, a screening appointment undertaken by a dental therapist or trained dental nurse will gather information on the state of your occlusion (bite) and jaw joints through joint vibration and bite measurement, and a questionnaire.  This service costs £110. If the scans show no abnormality we provide a verbal report. If there is abnormality present, we can provide a written differential diagnosis report, costing an additional £132.

Where appropriate for specific patients, we may recommend a rehabilitation analysis, comprising a full occluso-temporomandibular investigation lasting approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes. This comprises an exhaustive examination of your teeth, joints and associated muscles with detailed analyses to include options for therapy for relief of symptoms and repair of acute traumatic damage. This service costs £776.

Finally, we are happy to prepare a formal medico-legal report suitable for expert-witness submission in legal procedings. This report, costing £276, will give your Personal Injury Lawyer all the information he needs to negotiate an appropriate settlement following your accident.
