Veneers

Sometimes, even if your teeth are healthy and sound, their appearance isn't as good as it could be.

In the simplest cases we can correct marks and blemishes by tooth whitening and enamel polishing. For more serious problems of shape and colour, we can apply tooth veneers.

Some veneers are placed directly on the tooth surface then bonded and polished. Porcelain veneers are made in the laboratory and then bonded to a prepared surface of your tooth. The porcelains used vary. Some are as thin as a contact lens and very translucent; they require little or no preparation of the tooth before they are fitted. At the other end of the scale, some custom-made porcelain can be solid enough to mask even the most darkly stained teeth, and provide strength enough to support damaged or cracked teeth; these veneers need considerable tooth preparation before they can be fitted.

We'll work with you to decide on the right kind of veneers for your teeth. We first carry out a full dental examination, then measure your mouth for the work to be done and discuss with you the colour and appearance you want - this information goes to the laboratory where they make the veneer. Once it is sent back, we fix it into position then check and correct your bite. After this, your veneer will feel like a natural part of your tooth - but will look even better.
